SWOOP is participating in the Great Human Race on Saturday, March 27 in downtown Durham. It kicks off at Durham Bulls Athletic Park with a competitive 5k run at 8:30 am, immediately followed by a 5k community walk. The walk provides an opportunity for nonprofit agencies to raise money for their programs and enables businesses and individuals to support the nonprofit of their choice.
Help SWOOP pay for a workday! Please help SWOOP reach our donation goal of $6,000. The money we raise will support our April 10 workday. We will be working with Durham Affordable Housing Coalition and Keep Durham Beautiful for a community improvement project in Southside neighborhood in Durham. We will renovate the community center, plant a community garden and install rain barrels at the center. We will also assist at individual homes, cleaning gutters and downspouts for older homeowners who are unable to complete these tasks by themselves.

A Challenge from the SWOOP Board President!
Jane Lubischer, has also extended a challenge to all SWOOP supporters. For the first $1000 that SWOOPers raise, Jane will match that $1000 dollar for dollar. She is also looking for others to pledge to increase the matching grant amount. There is nothing like a good old-fashioned challenge to motivate a SWOOPer! Let’s make the most of Jane’s Race Day Challenge! |

Walk with us.
Show up on race day and look for the SWOOP sign. For walkers there is no pre-registration or fee. Also, every walker will receive a free SWOOP mug and a free SWOOP t-shirt to wear on race day.
