Ticketing
We encourage credit card-holders to purchase tickets online. Through a generous arrangement with Etix.com, you may reserve seats for a specific available table, and you can print your own tickets upon receipt of a confirmation e-mail. A convenience fee applies per ticket but Etix will afford you instant seating availability and options. No muss, no fuss!  Be sure and bring the printout with you to the dinner — this is your only admission ticket!

Purchase by credit card through Etix.com box office link on the SWOOP website:

This will lead you to a page featuring a flashing “Buy” button; click on “Buy.”  Choose your preferred table location: Sojourner Truth = $100 (SOLD OUT), Susan B. Anthony = $75, or Eleanor Roosevelt = $55.  Follow the Etix.com menu through the purchasing process.  Note the convenience fees per ticket ($7.20 per $100, = $5.65 per $75, $4.41 per $55).

For cash or check payment, you may purchase tickets via the SWOOP box-office option.  Please use the ticket form.

You will receive confirmation by e-mail with instructions for printing your ticket(s). Group purchasers will receive all tickets via one designated e-mail address.

Bring the printed ticket with you to the dinner — this is your only admission ticket!

If necessary, we can print your tickets for receipt at “Will Call” in the hotel lobby on 9/24.

Keynote Speaker
We are pleased and honored to feature Cynthia Vagnetti (PDF), independent documentary photographer and video producer, as our 2005 Strong Women & Heroes keynote speaker.

Cynthia Vagnetti has a long-standing commitment to sustainable agriculture, rural communities, and related issues. She has produced numerous multimedia projects and photography exhibitions, and she is co-author of People Sustaining the Land.

Cynthia has photographed and interviewed women across the United States to produce Voices of American Farm Women as part of a larger documentary project. Her artful photography and oral histories are a tribute to the women who work each day to feed America and the world. Voices of American Farm Women presents a dynamic contemporary perspective on a diverse group of women and their relationship to the land. Their stories are told through both images and words, and narrate a multi-faceted view of work, family, and community. The farming and agri-business techniques of these women promote environmental responsibility, economic stability, and community and family well-being.

Sisters of Strength Award
Inspired by Dr. Wangari Maathai, 2005 Noble Peace Prize recipient, SWOOP’s 2005 Sisters of Strength Award will recognize the exemplary service provided by a “woman of the land.”

We have received nominations of women who have demonstrated achievements in the sustainable usage, protection, and/or preservation of our environment — women who have made significant contributions to the lives of the people in their North Carolina community.

This event provides an opportunity to recognize our local women heroes who dedicate their lives daily to protecting, preserving, and nuturing our natural resources.
